What’s it like to study on Surrey’s MSc in Information Security?

Protecting digital information from unauthorised access is one of the biggest challenges we face today, and there’s an urgent need for highly trained specialists in cybersecurity across many sectors.

Surrey’s MSc in Information Security combines fundamental theory with state-of-the-art applications and offers a year-long industry placement, giving students the ideal preparation for a career in the fascinating fields of information technology and information security.

As one of the few UK universities to be recognised by GCHQ as an Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security in Education and Research, the University of Surrey is uniquely placed to deliver this course. Students on this masters gain specialist knowledge across the key elements of cyber security including cryptography, digital information protection, databases, cloud computing and electronic payments – as well as learning about security within the context of business and management. They also have the option of doing a year’s placement in a postgraduate-level role in industry.
