The University of Aberdeen is Scotland’s third oldest university and the fifth oldest in the UK. Founded by Bishop William Elphinstone in 1495, the beautiful campus attracts a diverse international community of over 14,000 students from over 130 countries.
The University of Aberdeen is ranked as a Top 20 UK university by the Guardian University Guide 2024 and Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024, and ranks among the best 200 universities in the world (Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023). The University has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prize on two occasions: in 2017 for its breakthrough impact in health and science globally, and in 2021 for its world-leading research and education in Soil Science. We are also associated with five Nobel Prizes across medicine, nutrition, chemistry, and physics, and research into developing the world’s first MRI scanner was carried out at the University of Aberdeen.

Outstanding Facilities
Study in the stunning, multi award-The University’s state-of-the-art Science Teaching Hub opened its doors in 2022, providing specialist teaching, training and learning facilities for students across a number of disciplines including chemistry, medical sciences, biological sciences and geosciences.
Aberdeen Sports Village is the premier sports facility in the North-East of Scotland. ASV boasts an Olympic-size swimming pool, a full-size indoor 3G football pitch, indoor and outdoor running tracks, a large gym and fitness suite, squash courts, and many more facilities.
