Goal Analysis
We want to understand and discuss the aspirations of students we consult. We can help those students find a route to achieving those goals. Many school counselors are tasked with prioritizing their students’ progress throughout high school, and are thus less inclined to place emphasis on establishing sound post-graduation plans, but we specialize in helping students establish, organize, and progress towards goals following their completion of high school.
Education About Education
We hope to clear up any misconceptions about pursuing higher education, and we hope to teach unfamiliar students, families, and communities about open possibilities. Many communities within West Alabama have low rates of postsecondary educational attainment, so it is likely that many students graduate without having a full understanding of the varying opportunities they can pursue. Additionally, we hope to dispel misconceptions about the inaccessibility of higher education which prevent many students from seeking further education after graduating from high school.
Seeking Financial Aid
Education is usually not free after the completion of high school. We will help students seek need-based and merit-based aid if they choose to pursue a higher level of education. There are many resources provided by the federal government, state government, and individual universities which provide opportunities for students to further their education at little to no cost. Many students within West Alabama qualify for these benefits, so we hope to connect interested prospective students with these vital financial resources in an attempt to ensure they are not prevented from pursuing further levels of education after high school.
College Consulting
We aim to provide students with advice and guidance through the notoriously uncertain college admissions and selection process. Many prospective college students are thrust into the ruthless world of college admissions and selection without a guiding hand to provide objective information about the process. GradBridge Consulting aims to provide students concrete information, useful contact information, and numerical data to provide students further resources as they apply for colleges and select an institution at which they can pursue their degree.
Career Connections
We are working to partner with local organizations to connect students with trade groups and businesses looking to hire new employees in West Alabama. We hope to provide a mutually beneficial connection between the students we counsel and the communities in which these students serve; numerous trade groups, businesses, and local leaders are seeking full-time employees, but their needs are often left unmet due to a lack of connection between potential workers and these groups. As a business oriented towards serving this region, we hope to provide meaningful connections between businesses and employees in West Alabama.
Graduation Preparation
We want to act as an external resource students can turn to in order to ensure that they are adequately prepared for their lives after finishing high school.
