Many people do not see hospitality as a glamorous career path, and in fact 43% of people aged between 16 and 24 said that they wouldn't consider a career in it, yet it accounts for 8% of the UK economy, and provides a huge amount of jobs. The flip side of the research suggests that 57% of people would consider going into the industry, and there are plenty of good reasons why.

Job Opportunities Firstly, tourism and hospitality accounts for a huge number of jobs both in the UK and across the world, and skills learned by people heading into this sector are likely to help with lifelong employment. One thing that can be guaranteed is that this industry is not going to shrink as people need to eat and they need places to stay when they travel. Despite the recent recession, the hospitality industry actually enjoyed a time of steady growth, which highlights the resilience of the sector.
