Summary
Please note, this programme was previously called MSc Sustainable Environmental Design in Architecture (SEDA).
The MSc programme in Climate Resilience and Environmental Sustainability in Architecture (CRESTA) has been specifically designed to provide expertise for graduates and professionals who seek to enhance their knowledge of the increasingly key area of sustainable built environments in a changing climate.
The MSc CRESTA programme will help develop both practical skills in environmental assessment and a deeper understanding of climate-sensitive design, designing for climate change, sustainable architecture and computer modelling of sustainable environments.
You will develop skills in the use of computer environmental modelling software and the application of that software to sustainable environmental design via coursework assignments. You will also acquire specific analytical skills in the application of both quantitative and qualitative research methods and generic research skills such as reflective learning, literature reviewing and dissertation writing.
You can personalise your programme by choosing from specialist option modules that reflect the high quality research expertise in the School. We offer options that include:
- architectural theory
- low and zero carbon energy systems
- parametric design and fabrication
- sustainable construction and management.
Covering academic and practical issues, the MSc CRESTA programme is an excellent preparation for specialist roles within academic research, architectural practice and engineering consultancies.
The kick-off for the MA in Architecture, the MSc BIM and the MSc CRESTA at the Liverpool School of Architecture has been postponed till 4th January 2021. The programmes will be completed in January 2022 and will require the students’ physical presence. The application period has been extended to November 2020.
