Supporting you during your studies
Health and Wellbeing teams help students reach their full potential during their studies, supported by services including counselling, mental health, disability and specialist learning support.

Students can choose from over 180 Student Union-run societies and 60+ sports clubs offering countless opportunities to make friends and memories for life.

Careers and employability
As a top 20 'most targeted university in the UK’ by Times Top 100 Employers, Newcastle prepares students for life after their degree. Students are supported to take the next step in their professional life, grow an independent career or – through the University’s START UP programme – launch a business. Careers Service support continues for up to three years after graduation.

START UP helps current students and recent graduates (up to three years) who want to work either as an independent professional without employees, or start a company with employees.

There are currently 203 START UP-supported businesses trading with a combined annual turnover of £88 million. Between them, they've raised over £44 million in external investment, won national and global awards and created 947 full-time equivalent jobs.

 

Research excellence

Funding opportunities

Newcastle University has created a helpful funding search-tool that highlights all long-standing, and new, schemes and helps identify what financial support may be able to apply for.

The database is easy to use, too. By editing the search by keyword, or by filtering results based on your details, it finds the most relevant funding opportunities. The database is updated weekly, so the number and type of funding opportunities will vary at any one time so it’s important to check back regularly and refresh your search.
