Over the last eight years, we have invested more than £60 million in new university buildings and facilities to support the creation of an enriched learning environment. Liverpool Hope University is spread across two beautifully landscaped sites. Hope Park is located in the leafy suburbs of Liverpool, while our Creative Campus sits a stone’s throw away from Liverpool's creative and cultural hubs and the buzz of a busy city centre.

The 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) results saw Liverpool Hope University ranking Top 3 in the North West and in the Top third of universities in the UK for Research Intensity, with more than a third of research rated as world leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*).

Facilities
Liverpool Hope University offers an exceptional array of resources to enrich the postgraduate experience. The university has made significant investments in ensuring state-of-the-art facilities are readily available.
Our library serves as a treasure trove of academic materials, boasting extensive digital resources and research databases, making it a central hub for your scholarly pursuits. In addition, our modern lecture theatres and seminar rooms are equipped with cutting-edge technology to enhance your learning experience. Dedicated study spaces are thoughtfully designed to provide you with a quiet and productive atmosphere.
For those interested in sports and health sciences, Hope Park Sports offers a wide range of amenities, including a main sports hall with six courts and a viewing gallery, squash courts, gym and fitness rooms, strength and conditioning suites, tennis courts, and 3G pitches. The Health Sciences Building is equipped with specialist laboratory spaces dedicated to nutrition, genomics, cell biology, and psychology. It features a 25-meter sprint track with force meters and motion capture for biomechanical analysis, a phlebotics lab for blood sampling, treadmills, and BODPODs for physiological analysis, a Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) scanner for assessing bone and muscle health, and a double-height robotics suite and engineering lab.
Furthermore, psychology labs include motor control capture and vision and colour labs, along with cognitive and neuro-behaviour suites. Nutrition labs house food analysis and testing facilities, while two large bioscience and environmental science labs cater to various research needs. Additionally, there's a suite of dedicated research labs for the study of molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology, nutrition, molecular genetics, tissue culture, and bioinformatics.

Shreya Sehgal (PHD Mathematical Sciences)
Growing up in India’s capital presented itself with a whole range of opportunities for Shreya. But as a woman with an interest in Mathematics, it came with its challenges. “Maths is still seen as a male dominated subject,” Shreya explained. “In my classes growing up, there were always more boys than girls.

Andualem Tadesse Maereg (PhD Robotics)
“I liked Hope from the moment I arrived here,” said Andualem Tadesse Maereg when we asked him about his first impressions of the University. “The facilities are amazing, particularly the robotics lab. There’s a great range of technologies, including a Brain Computer, mobile and non-mobile robots, haptic and VR interfaces, as well as a 3D printer. There are so many opportunities to learn and explore what’s possible, it’s the perfect environment for research.”
