Enabling the Extraordinary with Postgraduate Study
At Bangor we like to think that we enable the extraordinary that our students bring to us. We offer a range of programmes at Bangor that combine variety, quality and learning experience not available elsewhere. Even if you don’t have a psychology background we offer a Psychology MA and other applied psychology master’s degrees.
If you want to pursue a psychology PhD, our Psychological Research MSc is recognised by the Economic and Social Research Council as providing you with the transferable skills essential to social science research. Studying at Bangor Psychology, you will be part of a PhD community of over 50 people. As a PhD student your work will make a difference and have real impact.
World-leading Psychology Research and Facilities
Psychology is not afraid to tackle the big issues facing humankind. Our world-leading research spans cognitive neuroscience, clinical interventions, psychological wellbeing, elite performance, physical activity, health and applied human physiology, and has significant real-world impact. 86% of research output is recognised as either world leading or internationally excellent (REF 2021).
In addition to dedicated individual laboratories, our department has access to state-of-the art open-access research facilities and services including an MRI scanner, TMS Labs, EEG facilities and a human brain anatomy laboratory.
