Summary
Southampton’s flexible, full-time or part-time MSc Public Health, PGCert Principles of Public Health or PGDip Public Health programme will train you in aspects of public health, with optional pathways specialising in nutrition and global health. The course is designed for graduates or experienced health professionals who want to develop their knowledge of public health and/or learn new skills. You will be taught by our expert academic staff with a focus on professional practice, equipping you for a successful career in the public or private sector, or a role as an academic researcher. Our flexible postgraduate programme offers you the option of tailoring your learning to suit your needs. You can choose from studying single modules that can also accrue credits toward a PG Certificate. You can rescind your PG Certificate award and apply those credits toward a PG Diploma. Similarly, you can rescind your PG Diploma and apply those credits toward the MSc. We have full time and part time study options for all our programmes.

Entry requirements | To apply for a master's of Public Health you'll need at least a 2:1 degree in one of the following subjects: Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Physiology, Psychology, Demography, Human/Health Geography, Pharmacy, Medicine and Dentistry. You must be able to demonstrate your competence in Statistics, Epidemiology, Research Methods through previous study at undergraduate level. We are unfortunately unable to accept degrees in the following subjects: Nursing, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Occupational Health and Phlebotomy. This course is also available as an intercalation degree for undergraduate medical students. You must submit all supporting documents, including evidence that you can satisfy our English language requirement, when you submit your application. |
