Highly ranked - Lancaster is ranked amongst the top 15 across three UK league tables (14th in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024, 10th in the Complete University Guide 2025 and 11th in the Guardian University Guide 2024).
Lancaster is ranked in the top 150 out of 1,500 universities in the QS World University Rankings 2025 and 122nd in The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023.
Research Excellence - The 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) assesses the quality and impact of research in UK universities across all subjects. 91% of Lancaster's research has been independently rated as 'internationally excellent' or 'world leading'. Lancaster is 21st overall out of 157 institutions ranked by the Times Higher Education.

Graduate College – We have nine colleges and postgraduate students join Graduate College, which operates exclusively for the benefit of our postgraduate community. Graduate College offers high quality on-campus accommodation, places to study, opportunities to socialise and access to any support you may need. Our colleges offer a safe, welcoming space, where it is easy to make friends with students from many different nationalities and walks of life.
The campus – The Lancaster University campus offers everything we think students need including a sports centre which has recently undergone a second phase of development, a newly extended library, theatre, hairdressers, shops, cafes and restaurants.
City, coast and countryside - A short bus ride or cycle will take you from our campus into the heart of Lancaster – a city full of character and culture. 10 minutes from the famous Lancashire coast, half an hour from the Lake District, and only 2.5 hours from London.
Wellbeing and support – Lancaster has a range of specialist support services that work in partnership with academic departments and colleges to offer you the right support at the right time.
