Postgrad Solutions UK Postgraduate Study Bursary - Computer Science/IT
Admire Bandambira, MSc Enterprise Computing, University of Derby
Admire Bandambira is really pleased to be back at the University of Derby where he studied his degree course. This time he is returning as a postgraduate student studying for an MSc in Enterprise Computing. He is thrilled that he has been awarded the £500 Postgrad Solutions IT/Computing Bursary as it will help ease the financial pressure caused by studying at postgraduate level and supporting a family.
‘Winning the bursary came as a big surprise,’ explains Admire. ‘The economic situation at the moment makes it difficult for me to take care of my family as well as fund my studies. The bursary goes a long way in easing that financial pressure. I am more than delighted and I want to express my sincere gratitude to Postgrad Solutions.’
Admire is pleased to be returning to the University of Derby because he had such a good learning experience when he did his initial degree there - he particularly commends the lecturers for their exceptional support. He’s also really happy to be back in familiar surroundings and says, ‘The University of Derby have invested a lot to improve its outlook and the student facilities which I am humbled to be a part of. I looked at most courses offered by other universities, but none was offering me an option to study SAP with a Masters programme.’
The highlight of his first week at Derby is using the SAP software in Derby’s state-of-the-art computer labs. He was also delighted to find out that he was going to be taught by a highly respected SAP expert and consultant.
He says of the MSc in Enterprise Computing, ‘I am looking forward to the SAP part of the course as it is my dream to become a SAP trainer and consultant when I finish my studies. I have access to the best qualified lecturers in this field which gives me a feeling that I am in the right hands.’
Although he is originally from Zimbabwe, 39-year-old Admire has lived in the UK for the last 10 years and definitely thinks of it as his second home. He says, ‘Studying here means that I am able to acquire the necessary skills to enable me to economically contribute to this country, and hopefully in the future I’ll be able to contribute to the rebuilding and development of my country of origin, Zimbabwe.’
