Postgrad Solutions UK Postgraduate Study Bursary - General
Katherine Bale, MSc in Psychological Research, Bangor University
Katherine Bale, 28, from Aberdeenshire has just started an MSc in Psychological Research at Bangor University, she is really pleased to have won a Postgrad Solutions UK Study Bursary, and says, “I am delighted to have won the bursary. It was a big surprise!”
She continues, “I have disabilities that make it difficult to have a job while studying, and make studying more effortful. The bursary has helped significantly by allowing me to focus more on my course.”
Katherine finds Postgrad.com very useful, she explains, “It pulls together lots of useful information that would take a lot of time to find independently and it is presented in an accessible way.”
She chose Bangor University because it offers an excellent course in psychological research and gives more practical experience than many other universities. Bangor also gives a lot of subject choice without compromising on teaching essential research skills. Ultimately Katherine wants to do a PhD, and this MSc will equip her with the necessary skills for doing that.
Of her first few weeks at Bangor University, Katherine says, “Starting the new course was exciting. The amount of work was a little overwhelming, but the classes are even better than I expected. I am particularly enjoying the lab rotation part of the course. This semester I am working in a lab studying memory and using EEG. It is giving me experience of many aspects of research, and I am learning a lot of practical skills that will be useful in my future work.”
