Daniel Mead, PGCE, Liverpool Hope University
“I am very grateful to Postgrad Solutions as it is £500 that I don’t have to worry about paying back.”
Daniel Mead started his Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in September 2012 at Liverpool Hope University . This is the second time he has started the PGCE course – having been forced to pull out of his part-time PGCE course the previous year due to funding issues – therefore he really does appreciate the importance of the Postgrad Solutions Study Bursary.
Daniel explains, “I started my PGCE course in Primary education in September after pulling out of the part time equivalency course last year due to funding problems and being offered a job that I couldn’t refuse at the time as I needed to finish working on my house and the money was good.”
Daniel was working as a Teaching Assistant prior to starting the PGCE course to raise enough money to fund his postgraduate education. Although a fulfilling job that also offers great work experience for someone preparing to do a PGCE, being a Teaching Assistant isn’t well paid – and Daniel doesn’t expect to get a well-paid job until he completes his course.
Speaking about his financial concerns, Daniel says, “Like many aspiring students my age I have yet to start paying back my undergraduate fees and will now have my post grad fees to add to that.”
Postgrad Solutions is really pleased to be able to help people like Daniel achieve their academic and career goals by helping them out financially – and Daniel appreciates this help.
He says, “It is good that some organisations still have the best interests of older students in mind rather than many new organisations that simply want to exploit them.”
